Galveston Bagel Company is a family-owned bagel shop located in the heart of Galveston at 1110 23rd St, Galveston, TX 77550. Open Sunday–Saturday from 7 AM to 2 PM, this spot serves fresh bagels, house-made smears, deli sandwiches, and local coffee.

The shop has both indoor seating and an outdoor patio area, making it a cute stop whether you’re grabbing breakfast, meeting a friend, or taking a quick coffee break. The bagel-themed artwork inside and outside adds to the charm and makes it a fun photo-worthy stop.

They also operate two additional kitchen concepts: MAC-IES Smashburgers and Ghost Kitchen: Chase’s Chickens, giving visitors even more food options to check out.

MAC-IES is a smash burger spot located on Broadway in Galveston. Owned by the same team behind Galveston Bagel Company, MAC-IES serves smash burgers, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits, and shakes. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Chase’s Chicken is a ghost kitchen located inside Galveston Bagel Company. They serve chicken and fries, making it another quick and tasty option to check out while visiting the space.

The Owners

Galveston Bagel Company was created by husband-and-wife duo Dillan and Shelby, who moved to Galveston and noticed there was a lack of quality bagel options on the island. Inspired to fill that gap, they set out to build their own bagel shop—bringing fresh, flavorful bagels to the local community. When I first went into this novel, I honestly thought it was going to lean more toward a thriller. The cover and overall tone gave me the impression that there would be some kind of major plot twist or hidden secret unfolding throughout the story.

The Prices

The prices are very reasonable, ranging from about $3 for a plain bagel to around $15 for specialty bagel sandwiches. Coffee is also affordable, with small sizes starting at approximately $3.50 and going up to about $6 for a large.

The Galveston Bagel Company offers an extensive and creative menu that truly has something for everyone. Their bagel selection includes a variety of flavors like plain, snickerdoodle, blueberry, everything, poppy seed, and more. To pair with your bagel, they offer a range of house-made smears such as plain cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese, and honey cinnamon.

For breakfast lovers, they serve classic breakfast sandwiches made with egg, your choice of meat, and cheese—all customizable with your favorite bagel flavor. They also feature unique specialty items that really stand out. The Hot Mess is a jalapeño cheddar bagel stacked with egg, bacon, sausage, pepper jack cheese, and spicy jalapeños. The Beach Bum Burrito is a hearty flour tortilla filled with eggs, sausage, hash browns, and cheddar cheese. Another fan favorite, the Pelican Island, combines sweet and savory with a blueberry bagel layered with plain cream cheese, sausage, bacon, egg, pepper jack, and hash browns.

Their coffee menu is just as impressive, offering drinks like a salted caramel latte, peppermint mocha, marshmallow mocha latte, pumpkin spice latte, and more—perfect for pairing with any meal.

And it’s not just breakfast—they also have great lunch options. You can grab pizza bagels, deli-style bagel sandwiches (like turkey, salmon, or Cuban), and paninis featuring fillings such as chopped brisket, roast beef, served on bread like croissants.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick breakfast, coffee run, or a full lunch, Galveston Bagel Company delivers a flavorful and satisfying experience.

One of my personal favorites from Galveston Bagel Company is their build-your-own bagel sandwich. I went with an asiago bagel (my all-time favorite), loaded with ham, bacon, and cheese, plus a plain cream cheese smear—and it was so good. The combination of savory meats with that creamy spread on a flavorful bagel was just perfect.

I’ve also tried their caramel macchiato, and it definitely didn’t disappoint—such a great drink to pair with breakfast or brunch.

If you’re anywhere on the island and consider yourself a bagel fan, this spot is absolutely worth a try.
