“I know without a doubt, no matter what may come, you will always be the greatest love of my life.”

Time Will Tell by Hannah Bonam-Young follows Georgia, a teacher from Toronto, and Callum, two strangers who are brought together by a love story that began generations before theirs.

After Georgia’s grandmother passes away, she discovers a letter revealing a part of her grandmother’s life she never knew about. Her grandmother had once been in love with another woman, but during a time when they couldn’t openly be together, they eventually went their separate ways, married men, and started families. Before saying goodbye to that chapter of their lives, the women buried a time capsule filled with memories of their relationship.

Now, Georgia has the box—but she doesn’t have the key.

That leads her to Callum, the grandson of the other woman, whose grandmother Martha may still have the key. Georgia and Callum begin emailing each other as they make plans to reunite the box with its missing key, and somewhere along the way, those emails turn into something much more.

I absolutely loved this book. It was so cute! This is a dual-POV romance, and I loved watching Georgia and Callum’s relationship develop through their emails, then their texts, their first phone call, and eventually their first time meeting in person. There was something so romantic about watching them slowly fall for each other before they had even spent much time together face-to-face.

The email exchange reminded me a little of Accidentally Yours, except this time we get a long-distance romance since Georgia and Callum live across the country from each other. It gave me those classic rom-com vibes where you’re just waiting for these two people to finally get together.

And the banter was so good. Georgia and Callum had such a fun connection, and I loved how naturally their relationship progressed. Even though their story begins because of their grandmothers, their own romance quickly became something completely separate and special.

I also loved the secondary characters, especially Georgia’s sister Phoebe and her cousin Madison. I loved that they joined Georgia on this adventure and were right there encouraging her to take a chance on Callum and find a little love of her own. Callum’s family was just as enjoyable, and I especially loved the newspaper article his brother writes at the end about the entire story.

Because really, how cute is it going to be when Georgia and Callum eventually get to tell their kids, “We met because our grandmothers buried a time capsule together”?

There is something especially sweet about one love story from the past unexpectedly creating another love story generations later.

Overall, Time Will Tell was romantic, funny, heartfelt, and incredibly sweet. I loved the characters, the family dynamics, the emails and texts, the banter, and the entire time-capsule storyline. It felt like the kind of story that could easily be turned into a cozy rom-com movie.

Such a cute read and definitely one I would recommend!
