From the moment she hit the stage, the energy was unmatched. The crowd was hyped, the music was nonstop, and Cardi B delivered a performance that was bold, fun, and full of personality. It was the perfect way to start our concert lineup for the year.
If you ever get the chance to see her live, take it—because Cardi B in concert is truly a must-see experience.
Our concert journey started the way all good ones do—scrolling through social media trying to figure out the outfit vibe for the night. The theme? School girl aesthetic. Did Dad and I follow it? Next stop: heading downtown to Houston and making our way to the Toyota Center. After parking in our go-to spot, we walked in ready for the full concert experience. Pro tip: don’t forget to bring a clear bag—it’ll save you time getting through security.
Of course, we had to make a stop at the merch stands. From t-shirts to vinyl albums to jackets, there were so many options it was hard to choose. Yes, the prices were a little steep (my t-shirt was a solid $45 ), but it was totally worth it. I grabbed a black tee with Cardi B’s name on the front and her tour details on the back—simple, but such a good staple piece.
And with merch in hand, we couldn’t skip our concert tradition… Dippin’ Dots. Because what’s a concert without a little sweet treat before the show?
Our seats were amazing—right in the 100 section with a perfect view of the stage. We were also lucky enough to sit by a friend, which made the whole experience even better. The vibes were already high before the show even started.
To kick things off, Cardi B’s opener was a DJ who absolutely understood the assignment. He had the crowd lit, playing everything from Selena classics to Beyoncé hits. It was the perfect warm-up and had everyone on their feet.
Then at 9 PM, Cardi B hit the stage—and when I say she came out with a bang, I mean it. She opened with high energy, setting the tone for the entire night right from the start.
The concert was creatively divided into six different acts, each one featuring unique choreography, visuals, and props that kept things exciting the whole time. Every transition felt like a new experience, not just another song.
One of the standout moments was when she paid tribute to her Latin roots. The stage lit up with different Latin flags as she performed hits like I Like It, Taki Taki, Bodega Baddie, and more. It was such a fun, high-energy segment that had the entire crowd dancing.
Between acts, the DJ kept the momentum going by playing Cardi’s other hits that weren’t part of the main setlist, while her dancers took center stage to show off their incredible skills. It made the whole show feel nonstop—there was never a dull moment.
Cardi B didn’t just give us a concert—she gave us surprises.
She brought out two special guests, and each one took the night to another level. First up was Rob49, who joined her on stage for On Dat Money, instantly hyping up the crowd.
But the biggest surprise—and easily both Dad and I’s favorite moment of the night—was when Megan Thee Stallion appeared. The second she stepped on stage for WAP, the entire Toyota Center erupted. It was such a surreal experience—the energy was unreal, and you could literally feel the arena shaking with excitement.
It truly felt like one of those “you had to be there” moments.
And while they didn’t perform, spotting celebrities in the crowd added even more excitement to the night. Lizzo and Bun B were both in attendance, making the whole experience feel even more iconic.
Overall, Dad and I rated the concert a solid 5/5 (Jackson 5 status)—and that says everything. From the energy to the surprises, Cardi B delivered a performance we won’t forget anytime soon.
Would we go see her again? Without a doubt.
