Small Things by Wanda M. Morris

"Hannah, stop playing small just to make Rusty feel big. One day it’ll come back to haunt you."

Small Things by Wanda M. Morris was really, really good! The story follows a woman who appears to have the perfect marriage, but behind closed doors, her life is far from perfect. She owns a jewelry business that she runs out of her shed, but her husband is verbally and emotionally abusive. He constantly tries to isolate her from the people she loves, including her family and friends, and controls nearly every aspect of her life.

I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. My only complaint is that I wish it had been longer! I would have loved to see the story and characters develop even more because the concept was so interesting.

Spoiler alert! She eventually takes matters into her own hands and kills her husband while creating an alibi for herself—and honestly, good riddance to him! He was absolutely horrible, so I can’t say I was sad to see him go. I loved seeing her finally get her revenge and take back control of her life. And the fact that she got to keep her jewelry shed and continue doing something she loved made the ending even more satisfying.

Overall, Small Things was a short but incredibly satisfying read. I loved watching her reclaim her freedom, get her revenge, and ultimately come out on top. I just wish the story had been longer because I definitely wanted more!
